The magnificent art nouveau gardens
in the Lichtentaler Allee was
named after former lord mayor Albert
Goenner.
It was founded by the American industrialist
Hermann Sielcken
and laid out by Max Laeuger between
1909 and 1912.
Among the guests that attended the
opening of the Rose-Garden with
around 360 kinds of roses in 1952
was the former German chancellor Adenauer..
